Technically, he's Hylian. He lives in a magical land and has pointy ears so I'd say elf fits. :)

Hylians is a type of human, which is why they've been refereed to as such sense ALttP. Their ears actually serve a purpose which Nintendo has long ignored and the fanatics have forgotten.

I don't know if everyone's forgotten the ears are To Hear the Gods, or even if that point is terribly integral to the series as a whole.

Still, he totally looks like an elf. Legolas could totally be his stand in for half of OoT or TwiPri. ;)

I doubt that very much. Look at how accepting people are of OoT being set before the Imprisoning War. Given that the underling impaction for the Garudo only having one male born every hundred years was because they were cursed what happened when a group of males from their tribe did to stare the war in the first place.

Heck, there are people out there that have gotten pissed off that ALttP dares to conflict with OoT's story.

Zelda canon has always seemed a be a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff to me. All of the events occurred... at SOME point.... maybe.
